VBTTF Decades of Dance

On behalf of Delceno C. Miles, President of the Virginia Beach Travel and Tourism Foundation, we sincerely thank all of the businesses and individuals whose sponsorships helped make our first dollars for scholars “Decades of Dance” such a memorable evening.

The event was held on Saturday evening, February 17, 2018, at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. Partygoers came dressed in their favorite decade styles with music of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s through today’s sounds. Heavy hors-d'oeuvres and drinks were served and dance contests with prizes were held. Monies raised by the Decades of Dance will help support the James B. Ricketts Memorial Scholarship Fund, which endeavors to identify and reward the next generation of Virginia Beach travel and tourism professionals.

Thousands of dollars in VBTTF scholarships have been awarded to deserving students since the program’s inception in 2014. “The foundation not only provides much needed financial support to the students, but also raises awareness about the incredible impact of Virginia Beach hospitality businesses, which is our City’s second largest industry behind only the military” said Delceno C. Miles, President of the VBTTF Board of Directors and President of the Miles Agency. Delceno’s firm was the event’s major sponsor. The Miles Agency was established in 1989 and is a marketing and public relations firm based in Virginia Beach.
